National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day

In 2008, 6 million Americans didn’t vote because they missed a registration deadline or didn’t know how to register. In 2016, we want to make sure no one is left out. On September 27, 2016, volunteers, celebrities, and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” for National Voter Registration Day. This single day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts will create pervasive awareness of voter registration opportunities–allowing us to reach tens of thousands of voters who we could not reach otherwise.

In 2015 Cleveland VOTES, organized and coordinated events for National Voter Registration Day in partnership with the Cuyahoga County Board of Election and other stakeholders in Cleveland. In partnership with Cuyahoga County Board of Elections created and provided over 40 voter engagement toolkits (which included all voter essentials (i.e. voter registration cards and educational materials) and SWAG (i.e. table clothes, balloons and candy) for participating site partners.

In 2016, Cleveland VOTES will partner with the Norman S. Minor Bar Association to recruit volunteers to participate in National Voter Registration Day activities.
